Here we are having crossed our second major
ocean. We have met our goals 100% We have sailed safely with accidents or
injuries and we have sailed happily with good craic abaord as always. Now what
more could we ask for? Maybe a cold beer.
We are anchored up in Baie de Vierges (the bay of
virgins) which used to be called Baie de Verges (the bay of Penises) because of
the sculpted rock formations eroded by millions of years of wind and rain. When
the missionaries arrived they were outraged and quickly moved their
"r's" one place and added an "i" to the
Verges.
This ocean crossing was really easy and a great
deal of that goes down to the comfort of boat we sailed - the beautiful Rhiann
Marie. We took exactly 14 days for 3000 miles. Pretty good I think. We have
now sailed her almost 13,000 miles and we are looking forward to spending
the next 6 months in the Pacific and a trip home.
Thanks for being there and your interest, I
hope we have managed to keep your inetest and get an odd laugh out of you now
and then. Now its off to see why this place was called the Bay of Penises -
maybe they were expecting us! ................ but first that cold
beer.
