We are your guest bloggers for today. We are Rhiann
and Aimee. Started our journey from Inverness at 0710 on Friday 9th October
flying to London Gatwick. When we arrived there we met Stuart Moffat
(another guest for the holiday) with no luggage as he had left it on his
transfer bus from London Victoria to the Airport. That was the first mishap.
After snacking on some breakfast and Stuart collecting his luggage off the bus
we all checked in for our flight to Gibraltar. This was at 1320 and arrived
there at 1725 local time. Surprisingly we all had our luggage. We then got
a taxi to the yacht Rhiann Marie to start off our two week holiday.
After unpacking, we headed off into town for some
dinner at a small local restaurant for some tapas. Most of which was fish and
Stuart and Aimee did not eat! So bread and butter was their alternative for
dinner! We had an early night but were tempted by all the young people dressed
up to head out. We decided Saturday would be a better bet as this is usually the
busier night and we were all shattered.
After a long, comfotable sleep on Rhiann Marie, we
woke up and decided to head into town for some shopping while Mum and Dad
provisioned the yacht. We were amazed to find Topshop, Next, La Senza and
M&S. We noticed the unbelievable cheap prices of some things such as
alcohol, postcards and souveniers yet the things which we wanted to buy such as
clothes were the same price. That night the 'young ones' did our own thing and
ate at a wonderful, Mexican restaurant with a wonderful waitress which Craig
tried hitting on. We asked for suggestions of exciting nightlife and she replied
' salsa' which was supposedly a club but with the strong Spanish accent it was
hard to understand so she demonstrated it which the boys were thrilled by. Craig
then went further to say, when are you done? Shall I meet you here then? But she
wisely laughed it off! We headed out for a taste of the Spanish nightlife,
having a great dance and meeting some locals. We headed back to the yacht at
0430 and slept until 1100 on Sunday. We had a lazy day watching some films and
trecking to Morrisons, which we happened to get lost doing. Trust us! Then had a
brilliant meal of Good olg 'Spag Bol' cooked by our wonderful Mum/Cook, Trish.
We are now thinking of planning a trip down to
Africa which involves an overnight train to Marrakech and will explore Morroco
and places around there.
We shall keep you updated on our trip over the
holiday!
