Mojo blog 06 Checking the log today gave the news that we had completed over 1000 miles which left only 2000 miles to complete our journey our average speed still remains at 6.3 Knots per hour so if we keep our average up that’s 1000 miles every 6.5 days or thereabouts, of course anything can happen in ocean passages but we plan for the best and deal with the rest. We are still chasing the wind and the forecast is changing so quickly that we are going south to get a better sailing angle, unfortunately that could be by midday tomorrow but puts us finally in a enviable position for the remaining time as long as the forecast stays as is. Both crews are soaking wet, the weather is abysmal and who would have thought thermal wear would be a daily requirement which is down to the Humboldt current and if you want statistics about that then just call MR Google. Neither of us could imagine being in the South Pacific with the scenario we have its that dark and Southern Ocean like that the skipper who is going mad said he saw a Iceberg this afternoon with 3 penguins on it, Then in the middle of the day the sun appears for 30 minutes while we have a massive salad frenzy before all the fresh vegetables go south as well. Finally a bit light-hearted and the worst joke of the week, I thought I was in a boy band that’s all. Stop Complaining………. Crew Wet Wet Wet Mojo out |
