There's an air about the place this morning. A feeling that (dare I say it?) that we are nearly there... I know I'm tempting fate but the excitement is definately mounting! Under 700nm left now and with a forecast of winds, if anything, increasing a little, we are looking very good for Tuesday morning, though with a little pushing and a little surfing, maybe we could shave some off that!

So, there I was, sitting in the cockpit, on watch, around dawn, quietly reading my book when, a flying fish came past my head at around 30 kts...hit the spray hood and landed, flapping next to me. We were both surprised by this and after he (?) came round we struck up a conversation about 'chance' and how life can really throw you 'curved ball' at times. after a while I realised that I now had a moral problem; should I do as he, no doubt, expected and despatch him quickly with a winch handle (very effective) and have him for lunch or, do the decent thing and return him from whence he came. Who kows where that might lead? Maybe he would become a celebrity, write a book, prerhaps even get the leading part in the film........

What did I decide? Hmm............
