Bermuda to Azores - Day 10
Day 10 – Noon 28th May to Noon 29th
May The last four days have been exceptionally hard. Gale
after gale after gale. Rain, big winds and big seas. But finally we’re through
them, for the next couple of days at least. Our trusty friend the barometer is
shooting back up at a phenomenal rate. We’re all very tired but in really high
spirits now that the sun has come out and the wind decreased.
We’re trying hard to catch up on sleep and sort out the
boat. After 4 days of being tossed around like a cork the boat is a trifle
untidy. Food and drink spills are a way of life in those conditions. I’ve just
cleaned a cup a soup off the wall and Nick’s pancake batter had a laugh when it
emptied itself into a tin of corned beef. The other chief problem is all the wet
clothing and bedding but we’re slowly drying stuff
out.
No doubt the weather hasn’t thrown the towel in yet but
for the time being we’ve got the upper hand and we’re getting ever nearer to the
