Day 9 – Arrival in Bermuda

Dolphins that jumped clear of the water in pairs

 

Star gazing with no light pollution

 

Champagne at the half way party

 

The pair of tropic birds circling the boat

 

Swimming in a 5,000 metre deep swimming pool

 

Watching the Portuguese Men of War flip their “sails”

 

Figuring out how best to tackle the big seas caused by the bad weather

 

Navigating using a sextant

 

 

Bad Points

 

The front that passed through which gave us big wind and rough waves

 

The Sargasso seaweed that kept fouling the fishing line

 

The wind was either too light or coming from the wrong direction

 

Getting hit by one huge wave – the force of solid water hitting me was incredible

 

One fresh water tank getting filled with sea water after the anchor locker lid came open

 

Using the engine when we were becalmed so we could finish within the allotted 9 days

Watching Barrie bounce back after feeling seasick
