Then the cavalry turned up to help fit the hydrovane. It
soon became the talking point throughout the marina. Comments ranged from “what
is it?” to “that won’t work - it’s not central”

A truckers’ dispute in
Italy combined
with a Greek ferry strike meant the new life raft arrived late and delayed our
departure by 6 days. But that meant there was plenty of time for practicing new
skills

But finally at 1800 on August 4th we were ready. Paul said
goodbye to Wolfgang. Wolfie has become a great friend over the past 3 years and
without him Peejay would not have been ready. Thanks a lot Wolfie – see you in
15 months.

And that was it. The crew for the first 300 mile passage from
Corfu to
Sicily hopped on board and cast
off.
