Champagne Moment

Just under 10 full days – at about 0500 we passed the half way point.

St Lucia is now closer than Las Palmas ! Bring on the champagne – thanks Benji – and let’s party. The sun is shining – there’s flying fish landing on the boat every day – the skies are virtually cloudless blue and the wind and the swell are being kind to us

I’ve got a great crew and can’t think of many moments better than this. I’ve even had another shower today to celebrate.

We celebrated with a bottle of champagne and Bon Jovi blasting out “We’re half way there” from Living on a Prayer.

We then stuck a long message in the empty bottle detailing what we were doing and sent it on its way hoping that someone one day would reply to one of our e-mail addresses.

Our thoughts go out to our friends on yacht Pelican who had to abandon both their yacht and their dream. At least they have been rescued and are safely on the way to Gibraltar. Here’s hoping you get another chance one day.
