Finally left Dubrovnic marina this morning and drifted down this impressive river, under the 50 metre high suspension bridge and out into the teeth of a Southerly force 5 to 6, on the nose as we rounded a nasty reef but we jigged around with the course, going inshore of an island just off the old town, we had a successful motor sail through choppy seas and a spectacular view of the old fortified city. Arrived in the bay of Cavtat and dropped anchor, the water in the bay was flat although 20 mile an hour gusts from every direction were blowing us around on the end of the anchor. Now 2100 and wind has died down and all is peaceful. Expecting to spend the day here tomorrow and check out after breakfast on Sunday for the 190 mile jurney to Corfu. Forecast promise quite boisterous Northerly winds so lets hope for a good sail.
