It is 0200 on the 19th and we have less than 200 miles  to go. We are now sailing over a quieter sea in 20-25 knots of breeze and all is well with the world. We have been so lucky with the weather over the last 18 months, apart from a slightly windier than usual crossing with the ARC we have had good sailing and to little wind rather  than too much. The gale of the last few days has caused us all some discomfort and we are all that bit more aware of our environment and vulnerability of being on a little boat in this great big ocean. Hoping to reach Portimao tomorrow midday and then have 3 days ashore before saying good bye to Joe and Karyn, it will be strange without them, they have made a great contribution to life on board P3.  Saw a young loggerhead turtle this morning but too rough to se any whales or dolphins. Massive tanker just steamed passed our bows about 2 miles ahead of us, quite a saight, he must have been doing over 20 knots.
