We had a great Sunday with continuing light North Westerly winds and sailed all day at around 6 knots, wind on the port quarter, poled out the genoa and had the main out also to catch every drop of wind, unconventional rig but it seemed to work. No fish today but we feasted on yesterdays mahi-mahi and it was wonderful,  spotted a yacht 5 miles off our starboard beam late afternoon, the first yacht for 1000 miles, called him on the vhf but no response, as I sit here at 2100 I can just glimpse his masthead light but he doesn’t want to chat.  We  are now starting to get weather forecasts extending to Thursday/Friday, which should be when we arrive at Horta, all looking good, no apparent nasties around. This has been an incredible trip so far with maximum winds of 25 knots and maximum seas of 15 feet, a walk in the park compared to the ARC. Can our luck hold to Portugal? Spoke to Carol on the satellite telephone today, she wishes she was with us! It is such a pleasant, easy sea.
