Left Sta Maria di Leuca early this morning and started our trip up the east side of Italy, all went ok to start with and we sailed for an hour or two, albeit hard on the wind, then the wind veered and our course became more Northerly and the wind was ' sur la Nez!', we also came upon a south going current and staggered at 2 knots into Otranto with 25 knots on the nose! Dropped anchor and swam and dozed and eventually the wind died down a bit and we rowed ashore and explored this delightful old walled town with its very upmarket clothes shops (thrilling!!) and lots of bars and pizzerias, managed to resist temptation and returned to p3 around 1900 for supper on board. Depending on the forecast we will have another day here or get off, hopefully for Brindisi in the morning
