Had a wonderful sail to the island of Vis and tied to the quay with water and electric so the girls could wash their hair at least 6 times!! Nice little town, next day we hired a fun car, an old Volksvagen Beetle with the roof cut off, for 6 hours for £25 and toured the island, surprisingly, there are large areas of level and fertile land and they are growing grapes and vegetables and making a lot of wine, takes some getting used to though! We stopped at a tiny vinyard and had a glass or two with the proprietor and then, of course, felt obliged to buy a couple of bottles, its not exactly disgusting, but very strong and not very nice. Having taken a wrong turn and driven about a mile down a tiny lane that ended in a blank wall, we had to reverse out with Carol walking and guiding me, avoided scratching a mudguard by a thou!! Great fun had by all. Left the quay at £55 a night and anchored in the harbour for the night at £10 a night. Left Vis yesterday around noon and had a great sail for the 30 miles to Korkula, wind behind us all the way so just the big genoa and we rolled along at 7 knots with the dinghy surfing along behind. Arrived at Brna at 1800 and anchored in a little backwater to get out of the wind, unbelievably, a guy came along in a dinghy and charged us! I argued with him but he had the uniform, the id card and the receipt book so eventually had to pay him a tenner for the night. Croatia is really getting me down with the charging for nothing
