The frustration implied in the parentheses above expressed the crew's immediate and natural reaction to this obstacle. But on reflection, and after a good dinner on shore, we all recognise and accept that sailing is an activity that is necessarily weather-dependent, that there's no point slogging into a strong headwind blowing in exactly the wrong direction, that we'd be foolish to ignore the clear guidance of a celebrated and expert forecaster, and we'll wait patiently until the elements (and Herb) permit us to resume this wonderful adventure.
So the blog will pause for a couple of days and resume on Monday. Meanwhile, thanks for your patience!
