Everything gets better......

Charlie, Graham, Francoise and Henry - 'in the pink'!

Life on board Neroli has been difficult since the new standing rigging was condemned by Gerry the Rigger who did a fantastic job checking the whole boat. Charlie rushed around with Gerry and arranged for new masthead fittings to be flown over from Tenerife and for the bow plates for the furler reefing to be shortened. This morning we prepared Neroli by removing the genoa, slackening off the whole rig and eventually, just before lunch the Las Palmas' rigger and his assistant arrived and completed the work which was finally checked and approved at 1830. Phew! Charlie has had tooth problems and it has been necessary for him to have root canal work done by a local dentist - even that is now getting better.

Charlie and Lou

On Wednesday evening the whole crew and Francoise, our social secretary, went to the 'Tobago Carribbean Carnival' which was a fantastic affair. Lou, her husband Nick and young son Charlie had just flown in from London - what a shock to the system. There were some wonderful outfits and although we did not win we were definately up there with the best! After the presentation of the prizes we were entertained by some excellent steel band music and a very saucy dancer. All brilliant fun.
In between all this excitement we have been packing the boat with fresh food, cleaning decks and sorting safety equipment with help from 'young Charlie'.
