As good as it gets...........

Well, it could hardly get better. As this is written Neroli is making between 7 and 8 kn almost exactly 900 miles from our destination. The sky is blue, there are white puffy clouds in the sky and the sea is azzure. Last night the wind died right away at  around midnight and we were making very slow progress for a while. Gradually the wind freshened and by sunrise we were back to 7 kn or so.

Languid dolphins.

Before we left the UK it was agreed that we would each provide three 'treats' for the other members of the crew. These have ranged widely in nature from airfix model kits to a Christmas cake, whisky to a film, kazoos to books and Advent angels to puzzles. All great fun. The airfix models have all been made and are carefully stored, awaiting the panel of judges' decision in St Lucia. Tonight is destined to be film night combined with celebrating less than 1,000 miles to go. It all sounds very exciting. Champagne, Foie Gras and smoked salmon canapes before the lights go down. The film is to be Pirates of the Carribbean and the skipper is adopting the guise of usherette for which he has clearly been on a training course. He promises to serve popcorn and choc bars on sticks followed by hot dogs. Hope nobody is seasick!
The watchkeeping arrangements during this event have yet to be finalised although we have just been assured that this role will also be undertaken by the usherette. Our expectations of the usherette remain fairly modest - we suspect that 'her' dress code will be more Y front than fishnet! Report follows tomorrow if we are not run down by a steamer in the middle of the film!
