The one that
didn't get away.........
It has been a
testing day's sailing for Neroli's crew. Fickle winds have meant many sail
changes including two during the night. The wind veered into the SE and has
varied between a feeble 7 - 8 Kn and 20Kn or so. Our noon day run was 144 miles,
our third best but hard fought and 1,315 miles out of Las Palmas!
![]() The big
fight!
This morning
Charlie heard our fishing line run out and the fight to reel in what seemed to
be a Great White shark or, at the very least, a Black Marlin began. It took a
surprising amount of strength to play the fish and eventually reel it in but the
result was very worthwhile - fresh Dorado fillet for supper tonight in Thai
curry sauce.
![]() A Dorado - our
first fish (the one on the left!).
The weather
outlook is still very variable with threats even of some headwinds, God forbid.
We hope that tomorrow will bring us to our half-way point and also time to wind
the ship's clocks back another hour. We shall see!
