250 miles to go..........

Another cracking day's run of 170 - just one mile less than our record run and we are beginning to count down the miles to St Lucia where we hope to arrive on Sunday, just 21 days out of Las Palmas.

Graham taking a break from the blog!

The tradewinds took time to arrive but they have served us well for the past four days, during which we have covered 666 miles, mostly dead down wind with twin headsails. Last night during Lou's early watch the log showed 10.6 kn in 27 kn of wind. Exciting stuff for a heavily laden cruising boat. The swell has made it quite difficult to move about the boat - let alone sleep!
We got greedy yesterday and had two treats; Henry treated us to a tin of delicious Grassmere gingerbread which was applauded by all Neroli's crew. Lou's treat was a bottle of Rose and a poetry reading. As the sun set we read and listened to some wonderful writings by poets including Lear, Kipling and Brooke  . The grand climax was Lou's reading of her own poem about our transatlantic saga which will form our blog entry on our arrival date as Graham, our normal scribe is handing over to Henry tomorrow, as his birthday treat, and will be busy doing other things on our arrival date - like drinking a few rum punches! Normal service will resume on the following day, hopefully with photographs and reports on our arrival at Rodney Bay, St Lucia.
