This was a major commercial center in the beginning of the 11th Century. 

Yet more monasteries that we cruised past on the ship!

This is the brand new Cathedral in the City of Yaroslavl, built just a few years ago.  The other Churches needed so much renovation, they found it easier to build a new one first!

It was market day, this lady obviously has no transport for her goods!

We were taken to the local art gallery to take a look at these intricately painted and lacquered boxes, they are small object d’art, but extremely expensive due to the precise nature of the skill involved of course!
