Green Flash sunset – or nearly
Next morning, perfect weather to sail amongst the Whitsunday
islands.

This has to be the best sailing imaginable, calm
seas, 10 knots of wind and sailing wing and wing doing 7 knots through the
water, with the spring tide carrying us in the right direction,
northwards! We were going to stop at Airily Beach and see some friends,
but the sailing and weather was so good, we decided to keep going through the
night to get to Townsville, in case the weather decided to get very windy
again, as we had just had a week sheltering in Mackay, sheltered from strong
winds.

We shall have to come back here and enjoy a little
more time amongst these pretty islands of the Whitsunday’s, they really
look so inviting, with some good anchorages in calm weather.
