After a wonderful sunset the previous evening we got up at 5.00am to go bird watching by 6.30am it started to rain, the first time it has rained in the dry season since the 1950’s!

We slid 25 kilometres each way to Diamond Gorge and back, it then continued to rain for the next 48 hours closing all the roads. Guests charted a small plane to fly them out as they had an international flight to catch leaving their 4WD hire car here!  The plane nearly didn’t make it as it got bogged down on the airstrip as it landed!
