Happy Birthday Rob!

We arrived in Taina Marina, Pape’ete, on the island of Tahiti, on 3^rd May, in time to celebrate Rob’s birthday on 4^th May (may the force be with him). The day started with some fresh croissants, which Louis and Sabine bought at a nearby little supermarket. The walk to the shop was traumatic! Such traffic I have not seen since I lived in Los Angeles. We could not even have a conversation as the traffic, at 06:00, was already jammed and noisy.

That evening we invited a few friends from other rally yachts to join us for dinner at the only restaurant on the Marina. Despite the torrential rain we had a good laugh. The waiters were pretty useless, and we will probably never go to that restaurant again,! They were aghast at our ordering a 3^rd bottle of wine and all but disallowed us to continue drinking!  Nobody was drunk, so we can only surmise that they do not like English speakers!

Louis left the boat on 5^th May on a marathon of flights home to Ireland, to spend some time with his family.

Sabine left the boat on 7^th May to celebrate her daughter and son’s graduations in California!

Rob is onboard alone, “getting stuff done”!

We will all meet again on the 25^th May and the adventure will continue.
