A Year at Sea

On the 10th October 2021, Irene IV set sail from Kinsale, Co. Cork, on the
south west coast of Ireland. She, our fiber glass mother, has been constant,
forgiving, comforting, undemanding, ever smiling, just like her namesake,
our grandmother, Irene (Peggy) Ronan. We celebrate this remarkable day in
Bali, a tiny Indonesian island that has about the same population as the
population of Ireland. Our journey aboard Irene IV has been long, luxurious,
and filled with adventure. Our few days exploring in Bali have been too
short but filled with discovery and charming encounters. We have managed to
explore a cliff top Hindu temple, watch the laborious batik painting
process, experience a traditional Balinese fire dance, taste Kopi Lewak
coffee, make some new friends, as well as relishing the many dining
delicacies.

Please raise your glass to Irene IV and wish her well on her continued
travels through the waves of the Indian Ocean and then back to the Atlantic
Ocean, bound for Antigua, in the West Indies.
