Homecoming to Kinsale.   51.6971° N, 8.5154°

There were tears in many an eye as Irene IV finally glided, like an elegant swan, into Kinsale harbour on the evening of Monday, 23rd August. At 19:30, on a balmy summer’s evening, she made her statuesque entrance, slowly passing Charles’s Fort and the Kinsale Yacht Marina, she sailed up to the bridge and dropped anchor for a well-deserved rest on her first night in Irish waters. Thank you to Stuart, Tom and Manuela for ably guiding her through many an obstacle and to Chris and family for offering invaluable local support.

After a good night’s sleep, Stuart paid an early morning visit to the Harbour Master to check in. With the necessary paperwork out of the way, Irene IV docked in Castlepark Marina at 13:00, where her birth has been awaiting her arrival since June!
