We left Benhicket Marina at 10.00am and headed north back up the ICW and
onwards to Charleston. We navigated up the North Edislo River and through
a short cut called Elliot's Cut. The current there was so strong the with
the engine revvs at 22k we were only doing 2 knotts - we would normally be
doing 7 or more knotts at 22k revs ! It was very arrow and being Sunday it
was full of pleasure boaters who I think had had a few beers - it was a
very long half mile !
We are now happily docked in Charleston City Marina and we went back down
to Isle of Hope Marina in Savanna and picked up the car so we are mobile
again. WE will stay here for a couple of months R and R.
