The engine is fixed !! Such wonderful news the repair man came yesterday
morning as promised with the new injector and had the boat fixed in 20
minutes - exactly as he said. Having spent the last 10 years dealing with
Kemah boat repair people I find this totally unbeleiveable - This is the
first reliable and knowledgeable boat repair person I have met !
We left the dock at 10.45 on Monday morning and then spent a long hour and
half doing small circles in front of a railway bridge - watching a train
go backwards and forwards. This is the same bridge we spent 2 1/2 hours
circling in front of on Thursday - After we left there we headed out into
Mississippi sound. We hit open water at 2.00 and hoisted the head sail. We
had dolphins swiming along with us and the wind was perfect - we were
making a good 7 knots. We finally reached Long Beach Marina Mississippi at
7.30. It was dark and the way in, a little tricky. There were shallows all
around and then the chanel into the marina did not have any lights and was
very narrow ending in a dog leg round some rather evil looking rocks. We
made it into our slip greatfully and poured a large drink.
We are looking at the plan for the rest of the week now.
