PARIS
We left our hotel in London and boarded the Channel Tunnel Train and
headed for France. The train deposited us at Gard D'Nord and we then had
an advenure trying to find an underground tube train to take us close to
our hotel. At this point I feel compelled to mention that Doug speaks NO
French and I speak only the phrases I learned in school - back in the dark
ages !!
We did find the hotel and the following day set of to sight see. We
climbed the emense staircase to Mont Matre and walked around all the
artist area and from there we went to the Effiel Tower and the Arc
D'Triump and then we were exhausted so we got on a River Cruiser and
continued our sight seeing by boat - much more civilized.
The following day we went to visit the Palace of Versiles which was
totally awe inspirering - my first thought was 'no wonder the peasents
revolted - all that in your face gold and everyone outside starving !We
did manage to find a Tex Mex in Versilles - Would that be legal ?? We did
not try it
We left Versillesand since it was my birthday, Doug took me to a great
resturant for dinner. He did laugh out loud at me because I was wearing my
long spotty skirt and all dressed up with stickings and everything - but
it was so cold I had leg warmers on up to the thigh and my woolie boots on
- but you could't tell under my skirt !!
Paris has to be even colder than England ??? How ??
