We left Radon and headed out to Otley and Ilkley and then had lunch out at
the Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey. This is a old Catholic Abbey that was
destroyed in the time of Henry V111 and now sits in ruins on the bank of
the river Wharfe. The scenery was fabulous but the weather was still cold
and rainy. We made our way back to Halifax by going up and over Ilkley
Moor and then our and over Bigley Moor which was a bit of a test of Doug’s
nerves as he is not used to sitting in the passenger seat of a small car
on very narrow roads – He said his brake pedal didn’t work !!
