The Big Adventure
Doug Gillis/Shirley Hunter/Chief of Security Rags
Fri 4 May 2012 17:23
The Captain had his stitches out yesterday and is now doing very well. He
is getting around great on his cane and is confident he will be able to
throw it away in a couple of weeks. We have one more trip to the Dr’s on
May 31st and then hopefully he will let us sail again. Needless to say the
Captain is chaffing at the bit to get going. Doug’s morale is good, if a
little impatient – he does insist on fixing things – as if nothing was
wrong with him now and I am not sure how much longer I can keep him out of
the dingy. The spare line in the anchor locker may well have a new use if
he doesn’t calm down. Thank goodness Clear Water is such a beautiful
place.
We went for a walk on the beach the other day but unfortunately Chief of
Security Rags was splashed by a small wave and that ended the walk – he
found it impossible to move when wet – Rags hates water ….. There is only
so far I can carry a wet 12lb dog in the hot sun. He is currently in his
favorite surveillance mode – radar mode – lying on his back, all 4 paws
in the air, eyes closed , checking for vibs.. The pelicans are in fear of
their lives when he patrols the dock – He still hasn’t realized they are
much bigger than he is.
