I've just got off the phone with Carolina (Contessa 32) after I noticed her crossing my bows about 3 miles off. It seems that we both have had the same idea of trying to head south, after getting the weather from mailasail this morning, it seems that there will be moderate winds setting up from the SW from Saturday to Monday or Tuesday. Rather than getting caught with a 3 day beat into 15-20 knot winds, I'm going to head south so I can reach across to the Azores when the low pressure passes.

Any input from the sailors out there as to whether this may work? Have any other boats had the same idea? Any others heading south?

It's raining cats and dogs out there, just been on deck to trim and pole-out and got soaked!

No sign of Moby Dick but Carolina said that a whale crossed her stern yesterday. So I'm not going crazy... they are out there.
