Hello to my avid followers, how are you both?

I’m positioning Calypso from Plymouth to Falmouth (Pendennis Marina) and I’m two hours away, just south of the Dodman. It’s been an eventful few days trying to get the boat ready, I’ve been rushing around madly and up and down the mast, too. Just when I thought everything was going to be ready early, the wind indicator broke, so I had no choice but to replace it, as they don’t make them like the old one anymore.  It’s done now, I’ve fed all the cable through and up to the instrument, it seems to work very well. Thanks must go out to Jon Frary for his help, not just for the windvane but also for his knowledge and help getting Calypso and her crew ready for the race.

I’d also like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us as we try to prepare for the race, that includes the generous souls who have supported our charity, Help for Heroes. We have raised a lot of money with hopefully some more to come!

Please continue to follow us, I’ll be out on my own and Alex will join me there for the return leg. We’ll try and make our diary entries as interesting as possible...

Anyway enough from me, jobs to do!

Joe
