Ribadeo

We sailed the whole day and night .

Not much wind so we had to motor most of the way.
By early in the morning we saw a large group of 10 dolphins, all swimming alongside the boat, jumping as well. What an experience! We had seen dolphins before but never following us.

A few hours later and when we had already decided to keep sailing till lvery late night I found out that the main battery service was not charging. Decided to go to the next available port(6 hrs) after having talked to Jonathan Patrick in the Uk who advised me to do so.

Electrical failures at sea are dangerous not because of not having instruments(which is a headache) but fires are not controllable . I checked myself the batteries/digital charges and there was somewhere a shortcut..

Arrived safely after 5 hours to this lovely town in Galicia.

Ribadeo is a small local fishing town ,very lively , great sailing school/atmosphere for children.

While the marina is very modern with all facilities the town remains still very traditional with its local charm. Small shops/good food/long siesta/affordable prices/nice restaurants with plenty of Galician sea food.

It took one day before I got around fixing the electrical problem but bad weather caught us so had to spend few  days more than expected, which we did not regret at all.

On Sunday morning we are heading to La Coruna. Our last port before heading to Portugal, may stop in Vigo though.

However, late information came and apparently Rias Bajas(soth part Of Galicia is worth the visit. Let's see what weather brings toys.

John will have to go to Argentina next week to get a student visa in Buenos Aires.
