The generator saga is maturing well. The cylinder head gasket had a leak, part FedEx 'd promptly to BVI, cylinder head removed this morning to fit said part and bingo(!) the whole cylinder head is found to be shot to pieces.

Much discussion re options. I think in the end we are going for replacing it with a 2nd hand one but putting in new valves - more FedEx' ing. As we have been here in the marina for 9 days we have decided to leave for a couple of days, until it is all ready to be put in place later in the week.

A further complication has been that Tom and I have both got/ had Dengue fever. The Caribbean has had a longer hotter summer than normal and the mosquitoes, at least where we have been, are obviously carrying the virus. We have both only had one or two bites since arrival, clearly one's enough.

Tom has been rather less affected though still had fever, headache and nausea. We have tossed and turned, one minute shivering with the duvet up to our ears, the next flinging it to the ground and wrapping our bodies around the air con units! I have also had, and still got, the rash. Very irritating and unsightly.
Unfortunately there is no magic treatment other than paracetamol, unless you become one of the 5% who need life supporting treatment and discover the grim reaper a bit too close for comfort. So far that looks unlikely. It saps all your energy, even making a cup of tea has been a bit too much trouble. It has, however, done wonders for weight loss!
Both in the recovery phase now and anticipate return to normal health in a matter of days.........
