Hi.Been at sea fo 24 hours. Timed our exit from the
marina perfectly yesterday - in a thunderstorm. Soaking wet before a sail
went up.
The gun went at 11.0am and by 12.15pm our spinnaker
halyard had broken and the boys had to retrieve the sail from the "sea"side of
the boat, in great danger of a triple man overboard. Only minor problems since
then. Winds hovering around 20 knots, seas up to 10 feet, a touch of mal de mer
and damp. Weather set to improve'( for me) later today with lessening
wind and hopefully less excited seas.
These are making food preparation difficult, fridge door snaps shut on
your head, saucepans fly out of the cupboard, whole meals reach the recipient
via the floor..... The latter is not a problem as they are later vomited over
the side of the boat.
Lots of love from the excellent sailing team and
galley rat xxxx Jos
