Osprey finally departed Fort Lauderdale at 0845 this morning 5th November
and after a trouble free passage down the New river cleared the Port
Everglades fairway buoy at 0930. We were all very glad to get away after a
difficult month and last week getting the work to the boat completed of
which more later. We are currently crossing theGulf Stream heading for the
Provindence Channel through the Bahamas. Once at Eleuthera we will
re-evaluate the weather and make decisions on whether to track the islands
south for a while before heading out into the Atlantic or proceed directly
out.Osprey has passed all the trial which we conducted just outside Port
Everglades and which we were not able to do whilst at River Bend Marine
Centre. Little and variable wind at present so we are motor sailing to get
across the Gulf Stream Quickly.
