In accordance with the master plan we were up early and had the boat
underway by 0630 heading for Dominic.Initially we had light airs and as they
would have said in Nelsons day - we had all plain sail set. The wind was
mostly variable all day and we motor sailed some of the time. At others we
had a second reef in both Main and Genoa as the winds got into the low
twenty knots. We arrived in Rouseau about 1400 and were just wondering if
Jason (our man on the spot) had taken the day off when we spied him in the
distance but being outpaced by another "bum boat". A right royal fight then
developed when we told the new guy that we were a Jason boat. Eventually he
gave up (not with good grace) and Jason escorted us to our buoy for the
night. It being Christmas Day we of course invited him on board for a beer
or two or???. There are some huge advantages in returning along a beaten
track as it takes a lot of the hard work and concern out where to go and not
go along with suitability of anchorages. We considered pushing on as far as
Portsmouth but decided the extra four hours in the variable wind was not
worth it. Tomorrow we will hopefully get back to The Saintes and maybe
relax there again for day. With the combination of continuous sun and
outdoor activities we have both now developed the Caribbean ability to sleep
at any time the sun is down and sometimes when its up as well.
