After 2 nights it was time to head down to find Martin and Sharon again, they were anchored in Anse Mitan just across the bay so we sailed the 3 miles over and anchored near them. once settled we headed ashore for a wander and to get something to eat with Martin and Sharon, we have been here before but never gone ashore! its quite a touristy area with a few clothes shops, a bakery and a convenience store as well as a handful of restaurants, we went to one which the others had been to before, Steve had to cook his own pork on a very hot slate 🤣, to be fair so did Martin and Sharon while I had a baked Camembert and salad. The next few days we were going to hire a car - well martin and sharon were and we were going to tag along but the weather didn’t play ball, Martin and Sharon went ashore on the Monday morning to see about car and do some other things and while they were gone the wind picked up and was gusting at 30knots, I heard a fog horn blast and looked out to see a boat dragging precariously close to Sonsy Lass, i quickly called them and we launched dinghy to go over and and see if we could fend off etc. Luckily I got fenders out and it only came close enough once that i had to push it away to prevent it hitting, Steve was trying to start engine and windlass etc was tuned off inside boat, before he got it sorted Martin and Sharon raced back in their rib, thankful we had seen what was going on, they said on shore it was still calm and they were totally unaware the wind had got up! The dragging boats anchor actually dug in so it was now sitting a few meters away alongside them! Obviously no one was on board the boat so Sonsy lass moved to a safer spot! Drama over we had coffee and biscuit's 😁. ![]() Basically the next few days weren’t much different with strong winds so we mainly stayed on board, i took the opportunity to make a bag for the dinghy anchor, it has been in desperate need of something as the plastic tub its kept in is disintegrating! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
