This is week three for Erasmos and it's crew.
We finally left Corfu on Friday Sept 11 at 14:30 hrs. Hoping to head to a
small island off the west coast of Corfu. We put the sails up and had a
great sail until the wind pick up. The sails jammed and we were not able
to shorten sail.. When we arrived at the island it was too dark to make an entry
into the harbour. We sat and went hove to until the wind died, and then furled
the sails, at this point it was 2:30 am so we decided to do a night run to
Italy. We arrived the next day mid afternoon at Otranto. stayed the
night and then the next day we sailed to Santa Maria di Leuca. Stayed over
night did a long sail of 12 hours to Cortone. We left Cortone on Tuesday
and did an overnight run to Reggio Calabria just across from Sicily.. We
found our head sail is too ripped to be used at the moment so we are looking for
a sailmaker and in the meantime we are just using the main sail. The
weather is very stormy today and has rained buckets.
Temperature has dropped and our fridge is working so good that we have ice in
the bottom. Good for ice cold milk or beer.
