Erasmos left Porto Grande in the Cape Verdes On Dec
2. The lines were slipped at 8:40 pm and we motored out of the harbour
under a full moon. As soon as we cleared the headland sails were unfurled
and we took off. Wind was blowing at 25-30 Knots and we had a boat
speed up to 9.5 knots, not bad for a boat that has a hull speed maximum of
9 knots. Once we cleared both islands we lost the wind so motored again
for a few hours. The night was great, it is a a good feeling to be
on our way again. This morning brought sunshine and winds in the 15-20 knot
range, Our next goal is the mid Atlantic way point. about 950 miles from
us now. Kevin saw lots of porposies on his watch. Brian made fresh bread
and cabbage salad for us today for lunch. We are eating well.
Erasmos and her crew are very happy.
