Well, we left Myrina Harbour, Lemnos at about 0645 on Mon 11th Jun.  We had hoped to leave a little earlier in the morning but it took 45 minutes to clear-out at the police post and cost us €53.03 in Harbour Dues - Peter had to visit the cash point outside the police post to get more money as he had not taken enough.  Once outside the harbour we started to head South towards Mithymna on the island of Lesbos; no sooner had we cleared the corner of Lemnos than the wind did a 180 turn and blew straight in our faces - this occasioned a short and pithy family conference which resulted in a unanimous decision to reverse our course and make for Thasos instead.  By 1700, we were alongside in the larger of the two Thasos harbours; the one that used-to be the ferry port ; now the ferries dock outside on either side of the harbour and the harbour is completely free for yachts to enter - but there are no facilities as the power/water pedestals are disconnected.  So far we have done very little apart from see Peter's sister, Susan who is visiting the island.  We have had one night ashore in a house with shower and double bed (Peter fell out of the bed twice during the night as he did not have a cabin wall to keep him in!), courtesy of a friend of Susan's, and we have walked up the hill to the amphitheatre (followed by a "Full English" Breakfast in a taverna), but apart from that we have just sauntered around the town, done a bit of shopping, and written (and posted) a few postcards.  Our plans to move on are a bit on-hold at the moment as some very strong winds are forecast to start Friday night and it does not make sense to leave this very secure harbour to be perhaps caught-out at sea or in an exposed anchorage - so we may be here a week or more - the trouble with that is that the longer we stay, the less inclined we are to move at all.

View from amphitheatre.

We are the yacht that is second from the right.
