Because of the adverse weather forecast for the next week (winds Force 4, Northerly/North-Easterly, and showers/rain for the next 7 days), we have booked into West Istanbul Marina for 2 weeks.  We have some work to do on the boat, mainly finding and curing a diesel leak (hopefully from the inspection hatch on top of the tank (perhaps caused by the diesel sloshing about in the tank as we were pitched up-and-down by the headwind and waves) - have not found any leaks on the engine or hoses attached.  Also will have to check why the generator stopped because of overheating (perhaps water intake has been blocked by weed or a plastic bag, or something similar).  The marina office has been very helpful and we have a map of the surrounding area - unfortunately, the nearest supermarket is 3 miles away, mostly uphill ! ! !  We have not paid yet but it looks like our bill for 2 weeks is going to be in the region of £450 - so, if we come back here for the winter, it may be cheaper in the long run to take out an annual contract now - although it will be double the price of Alanya.
