On Mothering Sunday the Alanya Marina boatyard hosted the international Canada v. Australia cricket match. The match was a 15 over match with certain local rule variations - a ball hit into the air, which bounced off a boat ashore and was caught without touching the ground was a valid "catch" - a ball hit into the water (approx 80 meters away to one side) counted as a SIX. The Australian side batted first and, after being subjected to some fierce underarm bowling, managed to achieve a score of 101, All Out. After a sumptuous tea of Bread Pudding, the Canadian side went into bat and assisted by their guest batswoman, Pauline (Canadian connection - Peter's maternal grandfather was a lumberjack in British Colombia), managed a score of 102 with one wicket to spare.
