| Although we were up and about at 0430, after a detailed check of the weather we decided to stay put for two days. Thunderstorms are rolling-in from the West and we don't want to be going down the Dardanelles with a strong current under us, but Force 5 winds (with rain) against us; wind-over tide makes for a very unpleasant passage. This morning was spent on a route-march into the nearest village to do some shopping - it took us about one hour; we took a taxi back to the harbour; the taxi-fare was TL 20.63, so we were going to give the taxi driver TL 25 as he drove us right down the dirt track right to the boat - he refused to take the extra money and said that TL 20 was enough - that wouldn't happen in the UK!!! |
