Split Water Tank

We awoke during the night to hear water running in the boat - like a tap running. Now, there is not much that is more scary than to hear running water in a boat when there shouldn't be any - especially at about 1.30 in the morning. Eventually we traced it to the main water tank which had split a seam and was depositing all 300 litres of our beautiful soft watermaker water into the bilges. Well, after checking that the bilge pump was clearing it overboard automatically I went back to sleep to deal with it in the morning - Pauline said she was kept awake by the bilge pump as it went off every 5-10 minutes or so until day-break. Today has been spent taking out the old tank and throwing it in the skip. Have ordered a new one, of the same type, over the internet and, hopefully, they will courier it here ASAP. Have also taken measurements for a new, solid wall plastic one to come from Tek Tanks in Froyle near Alton, if we can afford it.
