Well, back from dentist and broken filling and tooth repaired with a porcelain crown for the total of 450 TRY - that's £ 182.18 at today's exchange rate - don't know what it would cost in the UK or whether I would have been able to get it all done within 8 days - just hope that our medical insurance policy will refund the cost. Whilst out we also stocked up with fresh fruit, vegetables, chicken, sliced meat, yoghurt and various drinks at the Migros supermarket in town ( 71 TRY - £ 28.74).
Peter has been doing some varnish work on the woodwork either side of the companionway entrance to the boat and also on the woodwork around the shower tray in the heads. The varnish on the companionway wood is to stop oily and dirty handprints on the wood when people go down the steps and use the sides as a handrail (the old finish is just oiled wood). That in the heads is to seal the wood so that water from the shower does not migrate through the bulkhead and rot the wood (this means I can stay on board and have a shower in the winter and not go to the draughty Ladies' Shower Block). When I asked Peter to do it his, as it was somewhere down on his "To Do List" for whenever, his response was "what are we paying all these marina fees for if you are going to just stay on board and not use all the facilities?" - MEN ! ! !
