Overnight in Antalya - 3rd Dec 2010

We stayed overnight in a renovated Ottoman House, now serving as a small Pansiyon.  The manager, who also doubled as chef, was an ebullient individual with fluent German and a smattering of English - enough to direct us to the Pansiyon when he came to our rescue.  Unfortunately, the journey into the city centre in our hire car was more difficult than anticipated; we arrived on the outskirts with perfect timing - rush-hour.  Getting to the walled city centre was achieved without too many errors in navigation but, when we finally reached the walls, we could not find our way in.  A further hour was spent circling the area - in a series of linked one-way systems until, arriving outside the Ramada Hotel next to the Sports Stadium for the second time, we gave in and telephoned him for help - 10 minutes later he arrived by taxi; persuaded Harold (one of our companions) to get in the taxi, jumped in the car and said follow the taxi - fat chance!  Anyway, he navigated us into the citadel and ultimately to the Pansiyon.  Looking back, even if we had managed to find the entrance, we would have spent hours trying to navigate the tiny streets looking for Dedekonak.
The evening was spent sharing a couple of bottles of wine and an excellent impromptu 3-course meal which the manager/chef just rustled-up as he chatted away to us.  The bill for B&B, dinner, wine/beer, bar nibbles etc, etc came to £ 34.60 per head when we came to leave.
