Lebanon

Well, This afternoon we had it confirmed that we can go to the Lebanon.  So tomorrow, Monday 19th Oct, will be spent panic shopping for stores and getting the boat ready.  Tuesday morning we will clear from Turkey, which can take hours - depending on the bureaucracy and, then, we are free to set sail.  It is about 175 Nautical Miles to JOUNIEH, about 6 miles North of Beirut.  We have to be at Jounieh by 1800 hrs on Thursday.  At the moment the weather is very calm and there is no wind; this means we could be motoring all the way - safe but boring (and noisy and expensive - our average motoring speed gives us about 5 miles for every £2.20 - giving a total of £90 for the trip).  The ideal would be for light to moderate winds from the West so we can sail most of the way - keep your fingers crossed for us.
