After a little of an adventure IN the harbour we have arrived safe and sound!

We are now safely berthed at the ‘St Georges Dingy Yacht Club’.
The berths are managed by the Bermuda Yacht Services people.

We arrived at 8.00am this morning, tired and ready for land.

The channel entering St Georges Harbour with a reasonable swell in the sea and 20 plus knots blowing on the side of the boat was a little challenging but all was fine.

Then we HAD to check in at the “Immigration and Yacht Reporting Centre”. This was in a narrow dead- end with the wind blowing us off the dock. Then the aft line got caught in the partly rotten post on the jetty and would NOT let go. This meant releasing the line from the boat to retrieve at another time.  It also meant that the wind blew us like pendulum across the channel making us do a 3 point turn – ugh!
Still – we did it all o/k and now we are enjoying a well deserved beer, a sleep and another great meal from Les!
Hey! We might even get to look around Bermuda next.

After this trip, this captain congratulates his amazing crew, Bob Dowling and Lesley!
For their endurance, seamanship and never allowing a potential crisis get in the way of a perfectly good solution.

..and Bob Greenhalgh back in Toronto for his amazing research, and coordination.

(for more details you’ll need to talk to me personally..)

Now. Where’s that beer!
