Cul-du-Sac Marin
6th February, 2014.

Gosh! It rains a lot here.
This is the dry season too!

We had a simple day cleaning the boat, popping for a short walk in the town and setting up the Apple iPad and laptop to take over from the Thinkpad for a while whilst dodging the rain.
They even have a a large supermarket here too.

ZANZIbar!  Such a shame.
We had been recommended to visit a local restaurant as ".. the best restaurant in Marin" - so we reserved a table for that evening as we passed the restaurant and we were pleased to be given a table with a spectacular view over the bay. We were even shown the table.
When arrived however the table was already occupied and we were shown to another table within the main dinning area. Obviously, we pointed out the mistake and were told by the middle aged server that that was not possible, that we were NOT offered the table in the pride of place - the place we were being offered is the only place for us.
She then proceeded to ignore us.
Now I'm not used to people telling me I'm lying.
Luckily, a more senior woman overhead the conversation (of lack of conversation) and took over.

oops! She was very sorry.
They had made an error.
"Would we wait with a drink in the bar for 30 minutes when the correct table would be free?"
..simple.

We waited for maybe 40 minutes and then had one of the best meals we have had in a long time.
Unfortunately the original server waited on our table and lost none of her unfortunate attitude.
We are sure that she had seated the couple in our spot without checking the reservation list.
Rather than just admit her mistake, her way of sorting the problem was be rude to the customer.
So, Zanzibar restaurant had the best food we had eaten in along time, the management sorted the mistake as soon as they were aware but we could never go back of recommend it to anyone without a condition because it was let down by that one person's bad attitude.
