The Gelcoat engineer finally arrived yesterday for his second visit to finalise the minor scuff repair work in the hull. That was the final job completed from the original list that was a page long at the beginning of the month.
Just about everything to ready ‘Timeless’ for the 2800 plus mile journey has been done now.
We are keen to get going!!

We have been keeping an eye on the weather for a few weeks now.
I have to say that it has been pretty good all this time.
Now, we have the remains of hurricane Melissa hanging around the Azores and heading down towards Gibraltar and a high forming west of the Canary Islands. The result of this is a bit of a messy wind picture that is just - o/k.
i.e.. Light winds that are not going to get any better for a little while.
It’s 90% certain now that we will leave for the Caribbean on Monday afternoon. We will head a more southerly route to the Cape Verdes tracking the coast off Africa and then a more definite heading to the west when we reach close to them. We hope that this will give us more consistent wind and avoid the more fractured winds further out.

I am using a weather consulting company to use their years of experience and amazing computer programs to independently forecast the weather as it will relate to us and then advise on the best strategy for us. (Hey, the people with skills and equipment are out there so why use them!). Then, if they see anything untoward or different than forecast as we cross they’ll let us know and suggest a new tactic.  Cool.
